    Vision and Mission

At Ford Elementary, students connect academics to the real world to develop critical thinking skills and receive individualized instruction and support to meet their unique needs in a community that fosters and values kindness, equity & justice, courage, respect, community, and hard work.

The dedicated and reflective staff of Ford School have high expectations for the students we serve and work beyond the call of duty to help students achieve success. We strive to provide a rigorous, culturally relevant, standards-based, and research-based instructional program. We believe in the education of the Whole Child, academically, physically, socially, emotionally, and we enthusiastically celebrate the diversity of our community.

    Behavior Expectations

It's important that students know what's expected of them here at Ford. We teach these expectations to all students at the beginning of the year and reward students for making the right decisions.

    Student-Centered Discipline Vision

Students are going to misbehave as they learn and grow—it's how we respond to their misbehavior that matters. We believe that students should have a chance to learn from their mistakes and to restore any damaged relationships with others.

    Ford Highlights

Dual Language Immersion (DLI): Students are able to learn to read and write in English and Spanish from kindergarten through fifth grade. Ford’s dedicated and highly trained teachers provide students the opportunities to enhance their native language abilities while acquiring a new language.

Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten: Leaders start little at Ford and we have one TK and three preschool classes, including two for students with learning disabilities. Ford’s preschool and TK staff are kind, patient, and help students gain all of the basic building blocks they need to be successful in the coming years.

Enrichment: As students grow and mature we provide them with multiple opportunities to learn and get involved. Students can join the Student Council to help lead the school or participate in Hip Hop Dance, Football, Volleyball, Team Sports, Fine Arts, Comic Book Arts, or STEM Classes through our After School Program.

PBIS Silver Implementation Award: We work hard as a school community to build a positive and supportive community for our students, families, and staff. We were recognized by the California PBIS Coalition for the work we’ve done to build school culture.
