The Health and Medical Pathway will focus on Patient Care and apply to occupations or functions involved in the prevention, treatment, and management of illness and the preservation of mental and physical well-being through the services offered by the medical and allied health professions. The standards specify the knowledge and skills needed by professional and technical personnel pursuing careers in this pathway.

Sample occupations associated with this pathway:
Kinesiotherapist, Nurse Anesthetist, Respiratory Therapist, Radiologic Technician, and Dental Hygienist

Vision:  The Health and Medical pathway provides transformative learning experiences that empower students to personalize their pathways to success and take ownership of their education. Through engaging and rigorous courses, students build connections with companies, colleges, and communities for hands-on experience in the workplace, experiential learning opportunities, and mentoring.

Students can use this knowledge in the future by having an understanding about the body, the anatomy and being health educated bystanders who can stop and support emergencies. CPR & first aid are skills that anyone could benefit from whether it be with siblings, parents or even their own kids in the future. CPR Certification is often a prerequisite for many health career programs. The sophomore course which focuses on career exploration will guide students into deciding what health career they would like to learn more about and possibly pursue narrowing down the many options. Internships, guest speakers and connections to Kaiser Permanente Allied School create networking opportunities. Our Emergency Medicine course is meant to prepare students for the CCC EMT Program. We hope to inspire students to be healthier and take initiative into making better choices that will support a longer life.
