  • What is the State Seal of Biliteracy?

    The California State Seal of Biliteracy (SBB) is a recognition and award given by the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, school, district, or county office for graduatinng high school students who have attained a high level of profciency in speaking, reading, and writing in one or more languages in addition to English. The State Seal of Biliteracy is marked by a gold seal affixed to the diploma or transcript.

    The 香港六合彩直播 School Board adopted the Biliteracy Awards Program in July of 2011 to recognize and value the biliteracy skills of all students, prepare our students with 21st century skills, affirm the value of diversity, and honor the multiple cultures and languages of our community.

    All Students


    ·         Reading log: At least 3  appropriate grade-level books in English  and 3 in a language other than English

     
    ·         Score of 3 of higher with the 香港六合彩直播 Pathway Rubric on an essay in English, and one in a language other than English.

     

    All Students


    ·         Reading log: At least 4 appropriate grade-level books in English and 4 in a language other than English

     
    ·         Score of 3 of higher with the 香港六合彩直播 Pathway Rubric on an essay in English, and one in a language other than English


    English Learners

    ·       Early Advanced or Advanced CELDT Level.

     

    Non-English Learners (English-only, I-FEP, R-FEP students)

    ·         Benchmark or above on the Renaissance Learning STAR Reading benchmark assessment.

     

    All Students

     

    ·        Reading log: At least 4 appropriate grade-level books in English and 4  in a language other than English
